ScriptCQ is a PNG Color Quantizer, which can reduce the number of colors in a PNG file. It supports PNG32 files, and can convert to PNG-8 with alpha values. Several tweaks are possible to set the quantizer, to choose the best quality / size ratio.

Features

Lossy Optimization of PNG24+Alpha (also called PNG32 or TrueColor+Alpha) by decreasing number of colors in the RGB area.
Lossy Optimization by conversion to PNG8 with a lot of options in quantization process, 7-zip deflation and high compression.

Usage

Drag and Drop

Drag-And-Drop your files ON the ScriptCQ. For optimal optimization, always name your file as namewithtoutspace.png instead of my file name with space.png. Always use standard characters. Do not store ScriptCQ in a folder name with space like New Folder.

Informations

ScriptCQ does NOT support animated or interlaced PNG files. You can edit ScriptCQ file to set :

Option Name	Accepted Values	What it does
AlphaChannelQuality	1 to 100	Affect the quality of Alpha Channel in PNG32 files.
Png32RgbFiltering	0 or 1	Active (1) or Desactive (0) the Filtering of RGB area to increase compression.
PngCompression7zip	0 or 1	Active (1) or Desactive (0) the 7-zip deflation.
PngMaxCompression	0 or 1	Active (1) or Desactive (0) very high compression for all process.
Png8NumberOfColors	1 to 256	Set the number of colors in the output image.
Png8Dithering	0 or 1	Active (1) or Desactive (0) the Dithering Error diffusion.
Png8DitheringValue	1 to 100	Set the value of Dithering. It tries to conserve the image integrity by color simulation. Dithering can give better image quality, but most of the time bigger files.
Png8Quantizer	1 to 256	Set the value of diffusion's quantizer algorithm. 256 gives image which have more gradients colors than others (good for palette filtering).
Png8ErrorP	1 to 100	Represent the approximative purcentage of errors in the quantizer algorithm.
Png8MaxError	1 to 64	Represent the approximative purcentage of number of errors in the quantizer algorithm.
